The Fossil Viewer touch screen exhibit allows visitors to pan and zoom an image of a large fossil block from the Triassic era.  The interactive exhibit is placed in the exhibit hall next to the actual block. The touch screen exhibit allows visitors to see details they wouldn't be able to view otherwise. Video interviews with the museum's Paleo Preparator, along with user-controlled overlays, help explain what visitors are seeing. The block contains the remains of Coelophysis, a seven foot dinosaur that roamed New Mexico over 200 million years ago.

This exhibit is part of the permanent Dawn of the Dinosaurs: Triassic New Mexico exhibition at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. Ideum worked closely with the museum in developing this large touch screen interactive.  The exhibit was authored using Flash (ActionScript 3) and makes extensive use of XML to allow for easy editing and future content and language additions.
