Understanding Genetics is an online exhibition exploring the connection between genetics and human health. The site explores the basics of genetics, how genes are inherited, ethics, genetic testing, GM foods, new therapies, and more. The site is funded in part by the NIH (National Institutes of Health).

Working closely with The Tech Museum of Innovation, Ideum designed the site and most of the online exhibits and features found within it. Ideum developed the content for the feature story, the online exhibits, and ethics section. The Tech Museum maintains the Ask a Geneticist and the Genetics in the News sections, while Ideum is continuing to develop the Points of View video interview and podcast series. Understanding Genetics was a Yahoo! Pick of the Day in 2005.
