Virtual Institute for Microbial Stress and Survival (VIMSS) and their associated projects needed an extensible, easy-to-use, and simple to update website and content management system. The Institute works across various research centers and departments, so communication and collaboration is key to their success.
The site was developed for an audience of scientists, researchers, and graduate students.
Ideum developed a custom system allowing VIMSS team members to post and update scientific publications, presentations, a calendar of events, as well as images and visualizations. This distributed content managment system keeps team members up-to-date and allows them to share important information.
The content management tools were developed using PHP, a popular Open Source programming language. Ideum worked closely with VIMSS technical and creative personnel to develop a custom system that would allow them to easily manage and update their website.
