Traditions of the Sun: The Yucatan lets visitors explore the region learning about the astronomy and science of the ancient Maya within a larger historical and cultural context.
Developed in collaboration with NASA's Sun-Earth Connection Education Forum and the Instituto Nacional de Anthropolgia e Historia, Traditions of the Sun contains hundreds of photographs, dozens of QuickTime VR, as well as timelapse video. Traditions of the Sun: The Yucatan is the second in a series of interactive explorers. Ideum, NASA, and the National Park Service developed the first one focusing on Chaco Culture National Historical Park in 2004.
