The Sun-Earth Day 2002 Webcast
and Broadcast reached educators, students, and the general public,
sharing exciting discoveries and knowledge from NASA's Sun-Earth
Connection missions and research. The 2002 event, held on the
Spring Equinox, investigated the connections between traditional
Native American beliefs and NASA research into the active Sun.
Traveling to the Black Hills of South Dakota,
Ideum and NASA team members interviewed Lakota chief, Joseph
Chasing Horse. Ideum produced three short videos shown during
the Webcast, working closely with partners from Goddard Space
Flight Center, Stanford Solar Center, and the World
Hope Foundation. The event was Webcast through NASA Quest
and shown live on NASA TV.
