We were excited to have U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich visit Ideum last week. The New Mexico Senator toured our hardware workshop and saw some of the systems we are assembling for essential clients, including the U.S. Navy, Sandia National Laboratories, and Brookhaven National Laboratories. During this pandemic, Ideum has been prioritizing work for our government clients and other essential businesses.

The Senator also had an opportunity to try our touchless system prototype, announced last week as part of the Touchless Design open-source initiative launch. We were glad to have the opportunity to discuss a range of important issues, including the health and economic impacts of the coronavirus, PPP loans, lean manufacturing techniques, and the current state of museums, for which the Senator has long been a strong advocate.

There were no handshakes or high fives, but the team did exchange elbow bumps, wear masks, and practice physical distancing. We thank the Senator for stopping by to learn about our operations and discuss some of the critical issues facing us today.
